Hazard Pro series HZP300
product introduction video (00:03:00)
When an earthquake occurs, two types of seismic waves are generated:
a fast‑moving wave called the P wave (Primary wave) and a slower but stronger shaking wave called the S wave
(Secondary wave).
The Hazard Pro HZP300 receives Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) signals issued by agencies including the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) when P waves are detected near the earthquake source.
The HZP300 is also equipped with its own built‑in seismometer and can share seismic information with nearby HZP300 units.
Earthquake Early Warning systems detect the initial shaking, analyze the data, and then issue alerts. As a result, in cases such as near‑field earthquakes, there may not be enough time to deliver the warning before the S wave arrives. In such situations, the HZP300’s internal seismometer—and the seismometers in nearby HZP300 units—can detect the P wave more quickly, helping secure valuable seconds before the stronger shaking begins.
By having even one more second of grace, employees and customers can protect themselves. Are you prepared to achieve zero casualties?
Eisai selected Hazard Pro because, in addition to receiving Earthquake Early Warnings issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency, it is also capable of responding to near‑field earthquakes.
The company highly valued the system’s mechanism and cost performance, as well as Telenet Co., Ltd.’s extensive track record in system implementation.
Eisai decided to introduce the Earthquake Early Warning system for the following three reasons:
To ensure full preparedness for tsunamis caused by a potential Nankai Trough earthquake, the city has installed numerous tsunami evacuation towers.
After learning of Hazard Pro’s strong reputation, the city decided to implement it so that evacuation routes within the tsunami evacuation towers can be secured even before the strong shaking begins, by linking the system with Earthquake Early Warnings and Tsunami Warnings.
The city adopted a method that automatically opens the evacuation stairways in response to Hazard Pro’s reception of tsunami alerts.
This ensures that, in an emergency, there will be no situation where “the door won’t open because the key is unavailable,” providing a combination of measures that guarantees access under any circumstances.
