Message from the President & CEO

Telenet Co., Ltd. is a disaster prevention company specializing in earthquake and tsunami countermeasures using information technology. We offer products and services that assist in disaster prevention.

Our company was founded in 1998. Initially, under the deregulation of communication, our main business was the resale of telephone lines and the sale of communication equipment. Stemming from this business, in 2007,when the Japan Meteorological Agency started the public use of the emergency earthquake early warning service, we pivoted to focus on comprehensive disaster prevention technology combining "disaster prevention, IT,and information."

We meet with disaster prevention representatives from numerous companies and organizations every day.Currently, we provide disaster countermeasure services to over 3,000 companies and organizations from Hokkaido to Okinawa. While we have accumulated a wealth of experience and on-the-ground expertise, we constantly strive to offer the most optimal and best solutions tailored to our clients' specific needs.

To introduce two of our main ongoing measures specifically:

Earthquake early warning device for buildings
In Japan, a country prone to earthquakes, we provide an emergency earthquake early warning system for buildings.
By setting this, a broadcast will automatically be sent to the entire building before it shakes violently due to an earthquake, and people inside the building will be able to be called upon to evacuate.
Research conducted by the University of Tokyo in Japan has shown that if you can detect a major earthquake five seconds before it hits and take evacuation action, you can reduce the casualty rate by 80%.
We are trying to reduce the damage caused by disasters by combining IT and information.
We would like to provide our emergency earthquake early warning system to countries other than Japan.
If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.

“Hazard Talk” (Means of communication in times of disaster) is installed at business locations. It disseminates emergency disaster information to companies and organizations during disasters and provides warnings with different voice guidance for each communication method. We also offer a training console.

At Telenet, we aim to use the combination of "disaster prevention, IT, and information" to reduce the number of casualties due to natural disasters. Without being bound by conventional thinking, we flexibly conceive ideas, aiming to provide new,and useful solutions. We are committed to assisting our clients in building a “brighter, safer, and more secure future.”
